13 Chilling
Feb. 5th, 2011 01:05 am Overall, I think my favourite part of the trip was just chilling (in both senses of the word!) and enjoying the scenery.
What an amazing place!
Overall, I think my favourite part of the trip was just chilling (in both senses of the word!) and enjoying the scenery.
What an amazing place!
This poor fellow had to stand out in the cold and suffer tourists continually throwing ropes at his head.
I don't think anyone actually caught him, though!
The consensus was that the reindeer sleighs were more comfortable than the husky sleds, but less comfortable than the snowmobiles. Perhaps less exciting than either, but more sociable and definitely more relaxing.
One of our excursions was to a reindeer camp, which we arrived at shortly before it was fully light.
I bet the kids here are always really well behaved if this is where they're sent when they're naughty!
The church was very pretty once we got close to it, though there was nobody around, even though it was Sunday morning.
The humans had to wear special protective gear to survive the cold. I, of course, was perfectly comfortable in my fur.
In fact, we were exactly on the border between Sweden and Finland, as this sign attests.
I found this sign more effective in demonstrating just how far away we were from home.
The hotel had a helpful map in the lobby, showing where we actually were.
We stayed in Room 101, which did not bode well when my human tripped on arrival and fell flat on her face.
Towards the end of January, the humans and I took a trip to Lapland. This was the hotel sign, which had candles to light it up very prettily at night.
