This photo didn't come out quite as well as I had hoped, but I've still included it because it shows the lovely view from the East Banqueting House lounge, directly across to the West Banqueting House.

The odd thing about this picture is that there are no sheep in it, since the space between the houses was usually full of them!

This is the North Lodge, where one of our party stayed in a bijou apartment, consisting of a bathroom, bedroom, and incredibly steep and narrow spiral staircase.

A much clearer view of St James' Church.

This is the back of the Court Barns, which now houses a really nice little museum focusing on local arts and crafts.

The curator was very attentive, but complained about the Landmark Trust taking control of the other buildings on the site and forcing the museum to board up the windows that looked into the grounds - she was then rather embarrassed when we revealed we were staying in the property!

This is the Almonry, the third of the buildings we occupied throughout our stay.

The top storey of the West Banqueting House, which was our main meeting place on a daily basis. Like the East Banqueting House, it had two storeys, both of which had outside doors, since it was built into the side of a hill.

This was one of the better days we had, weatherwise, allowing for pleasant relaxation outside.

This is all that remains of the actual manor house, which was destroyed by fire during the Civil War.

Part of the wall separating St James' Church from the Old Campden House grounds. We saw several people craning round the edge of the wall, taking pictures of the property. Also, every time we left the gates open for any length of time, people wandered in to find out what was inside.

Ah, the Cotswolds - one of my favourite areas of the country. Lovely scenery!

The windows in these kinds of places are always so interesting, don't you think?

It was lovely to be away from London, with the time to sit around and enjoy the view.

The door to the East Banqueting House was quite formidable.

Last week, the humans and I joined a group of their friends in Chipping Campden, where we stayed in the remains of Old Campden House.

Our abode for the trip was the East Banqueting House, seen behind me here. It was actually three storeys high, but built on a very steep hill, meaning that all three storeys had an outside door.
