Writing Retreats
My primary human and I set off for Somerset last week to attend a four-day writing retreat with 17 other writers. Most of the group were housed in cute cabins like this:
They were very cosy inside:
Each also had a double bed in a cubby hole that had a ladder for access and a very cute door:
The bathrooms were very luxurious, but did require a trip outside and along a little boardwalk:
My human, however, was one of the lucky ones staying in the cottage:
We had the benefit of brick walls and a lot more space:
Not to mention a lovely bedroom:
The surroundings were extremely lush and very quiet (apart from the cows...):
Outside of the truly excellent and very inspiring workshops, my human had plenty of opportunity to plan her next novel, accompanied of course by copious amounts of tea:
On the last night, we all gathered to make pizza:
Much fun was had with the outside ovens:
When everyone else headed home on Monday, my human and I travelled on to an undisclosed location in Ireland to meet up with some other writer friends for four more days of retreat! The house we were staying in was very old and we weren't allowed to take many pictures.
We were issued a strong metal box to protect our snacks from the mice...
But there was a very friendly bear to chat too - say hello to Baba Bear!
Overall, we had an excellent trip and met lots of lovely people - plus, my human completed the outline of her latest novel!
