What more can I say? I believe my experience speaks for itself. As an intrepid photo-journalist, I have travelled all over the world in search of a good tale to tell, and being part of such a prestigious exhibition at the British Museum would be the feather in my cap.

With this presentation, I think I can beat the competition standing on my head!

20 Head Stand

Once, we had to chase Minime all over Joshua Tree National Park, after he conducted a ritual that resulted in him swapping bodies with Stan.

That was one of my weirder adventures – the full story can be found here (again, it only makes sense if you read from the bottom upwards!)

But he always prevails in the end.

18 Stan Victorious

More often than I would like, my adventures are disrupted by my nemesis, Minime, who makes up in evil ambition what he lacks in size.

Stan has had some rather hair-raising encounters with him.

…I was wrong.

Unfortunately…

I thought my Crane stance would be impervious to attack!

My best friend is a Womble named Stan (short for Afghanistan – he picked the name from an atlas himself, long before the trouble started over there).

He moonlights as a secret agent, and recently started teaching me Kung Fu.

Sadly, the time machine is currently out of commission but I hope to have it up and running again soon.

The last time I tried to use it, the results were somewhat... uncomfortable.

Regarding historical re-enactments, I have gone one better! I designed and built my very own time machine and used it to travel back to the middle ages.

You can see the time machine itself and read the whole story of that adventure here (though it only makes sense if you read it from the bottom upwards)

I had a portrait done at the MCM Expo in May, and have since commissioned a custom-made steampunk outfit of my very own. Unfortunately, it is still in production, so photos are as yet unavailable. However, it will be ready in early September, so I could wear it in the exhibition if I am chosen.

We particularly enjoy attending steampunk events, and made our presence known at The Asylum in Lincoln last September.

Dressing up is a passion I share with my humans. Their wedding had a medi-eval theme and I took centre stage during the ceremony.

...though it didn't turn out quite as planned!

7 Frisbee Doom

As for my other hobbies, they are many and various. I’ve never actually been sky diving – I did, however, once try Frisbee surfing...

I have met many people (human and otherwise) on my travels, some of them friendly...

To give a brief summary of my experience, I am widely travelled (Italy, much of Canada, India, Lapland, The Netherlands, California, Washington DC and Florida in the US).

Lapland earlier this year was particularly beautiful, if a little chilly.

I have also self-published a selection of tales in The Book of Bear, a copy of which is available to the judges on request.

2 The Book of Bear

Hello!

My name is Bear and this personal statement will explain why I am the only choice (or at least one of three) for the post of stunt double for the inimitable Alan Measles.

Now, you may be ready to dismiss me immediately for having such an uninspiring name. Do not be hasty! It’s a clever ruse to lull people into a false sense of security. I save all my creativity for my amazing exploits, and those have been many, let me tell you!

As you can see, I have my own business cards (how else can a bear advertise his genius to the masses?), which detail the location of my LiveJournal blog, where I document my adventures in the form of photo stories.
