Optimistic Apocalypse
May. 18th, 2020 01:09 pmThere was a submission opportunity recently for a photo story with the title: Optimistic Apocalypse. Mine was rejected, but that's okay, because now I can post it here! Nothing to do, nowhere to go, everything seems restricted and hopeless:
But we can still go outside and enjoy the sunshine, and the trees are in bloom:

There’s another one in the window of this house:
This family has festooned their tree with rainbows – how lovely!
And here’s a friendly bear, waving to the passersby:
There are messages of hope and solidarity everywhere I look:
I’ve been so cheered by other people’s efforts of connection. It’s time for me and my friends to do our bit by presenting a hopeful front to our neighbourhood:

Well, regardless, I feel much more positive about the situation than I did, and I hope my efforts will bring some joy to others as well.
