Matlock Reading Retreat

I hope people aren't getting bored of posts about Reading Retreats - it does seem to be what my human and I do most at the moment. The Matlock location had the distinction of being walking distance from the station so there was none of the usual taxi-related stress, which was nice. We had the usual pile of books to read, and a lovely goodie bag waiting for us, with loads of Totoro stickers!



On the day when the sun shined, we took a lovely walk to a nearby churchyard, which had great views of the surrounding countryside:



Inside the church, we found an industrious group of locals, completing a well dressing:



They allowed the reading retreat party to have a go, and my human helped complete the butterflies' wings:



I took the opportunity to catch up with Reading Retreat Totoro, who runs a tight ship:



We also had the chance to develop our zen attitude and do some meditation:



This fellow was vigilant in his guard duties, ensuring the dining room was always clear of threats:



Whilst these gents had a more relaxed approach:



There were other friendly creatures in the bathroom:



And I got a rare chance to swim with whales:



Word of my arrival quickly spread through the local bear community and they gathered to welcome me:



They accepted me as their king and I decreed peace and harmony for all, bear and non-bear alike:



My human probably also did some reading...
