Back to Thorpeness!

For our eighth reading retreat, and the two year anniversary of our first, my primary human and I returned to Thorpeness, but to a different house from the one we visited there before. Waiting for us in our room was a new tiger friend, who lived at the house, and some excellent Totoro-themed goodies:
My human had her selected books all ready to go, and managed to get through four of them across the four days of the retreat, including journey time (and a little bit of extra reading on arrival back home today). It proved to be an excellent range, and resulted in some very interesting discussions with others who had already read some of her choices:
We had some lovely Winnie the Pooh prints on the wall in our room:
And I was particularly struck by the black-sailed boat on the windowsill in the bathroom:
There were also lots of colourful fish over the bath itself:
The walk on the first full day led us to the seaside:
And, during the walk on the second full day, we discovered a house purporting to belong to my human!
On the last evening, I took the opportunity to convene a group meeting with the Reading Retreat morale crew, who are doing an excellent job and seem to have everything well in hand:
We will hopefully see them next in January, when we plan to venture to Thorpeness once again, and back to the previous house, which we both remember really liking.
